Home to more than half a million inhabitants, Portland stands in the state of Oregon, on the western side of the United States. Portland is home to many places to visit, which include theaters, galleries, museums and a large number of restaurants. Also often referred to as Nob Hill, Northwest Portland is a wealthy part of the city, full of residential streets, bars and brewpubs. On the southeastern side of Portland, Chinatown and the Old Town district contain many lively entertainment venues, while Portland's Pearl district has recently been transformed into a particularly stylish neighborhood.
